Having trained as a veterinary nurse primarily, I started home dog boarding in Croydon some 27 years ago. I wanted to give them the companionship and personal attention they richly reward us with, unerringly so. Nothing less would suffice, so I made it my aim to offer them a ‘home from home’ environment without kennels or cages.
My experience has also encompassed being a volunteer for a local Croydon based animal rescue group for 14 years, such is my passion for animals.
When it comes to Home Boarding I only take in 3 dogs at any one time for short or long stays, people often ask, “How do they all get on”? The answer is more simple than it appears. Our canine friends are inherently highly sociable pack animals. By careful screening, I rule out dominant aggressive individuals who might ascend any pack order and cause conflict to another person’s much loved animal whilst in my care. All dogs are vetted carefully this way, and owners visit first before making a booking arrangement. If there’s uncertainty on how your dog will fit in with others, then a short trial period is recommended.
